Klamath Falls Charming Chicks June Meet and Fiesta

Today was our Klamath Falls Charming Chicks June Meeting and Mexican Fiesta PotLuck.  We had a wonderful time and our hostess Robin has such a beautiful shady yard that it all made for a fine afternoon.  We had many great dishes along with some varieties of fruit wines to choose from.  Mary brought some Chicken,Tequilla, Lime tacos that were sooooooooo good.  There was a couple great casserole dishes and homemade totillia chip and salsa. yummy yummy. To finish off there was a fresh homemade strawberry and blueberry pie.  Also there was fresh watermelon and the biggest strawberries ever.  We planned some upcoming events to earn money for charities we donate to and discussed how we could all help out.  We caught up with all thats been going on with everyone as now that summer is here we don't get to see everyone at all the meetings.    We had a great afternoon and will be back at Robins in July for the Century Eagle Air show.  The airport is in her back yard so we will have front row seats.  We are having a pot luck then also and families are coming too .  Another fun time to get together.  Our group was small this time as some are traveling, sick, or caring for other family members but whether its two or twenty us farmgirls always have alot to share.
Oh, what a great bunch of farmchicks we are!

2nd. Annual Tea Party

Mary and I hosted our 2nd annual tea Party  last
Saturday and as always it was lots of work and fun.
we played some tea games of Proper Tea Etiquette
and learned many things we didn't know. lol
We also played the penny game and all was fun.
We had gone to a specialty tea store  and got some nice teas as prizes.  Whenever we get together we have alot of fun.  We gave each guest hardbound tea books with recipes for scones, and other nice things.
At the Tea Party we served Chilled shrimp, chicken salad sandwhiches with pine nuts in them and cream cheese cucumber sandwhiches and also small stuffed baby peppers with artichoke cream cheese.

For our sweet tooth we served apricot scones, lemon yogurt bread, and walnut pie.

For beverages we served victorian iced tea make with spices and apricot nector and club soda (so good) and of course traditional hot tea.

more new things at tater patch quilts

Saturday was our Saturday Sampler and as always it was alot of fun.  I have friends their who are in my local quilt guild and we all sit together.  Another friend (Rose) gave me all the block patterns as well as some with fabric to last years Sat. sampler quilt.  That was so nice of her.

The quilt was in all dark greens and mauve or dark maroon and here is one someone did in blues.
Went house hunting in the Bonanza area and as we got closer
to the address I was looking for I spotted this and just laughed out loud.

After driving my roll up window truck with a 5 speed on floor  for 17 years I decided to get a new car.   This is my new 2012 Honda Civic LX.

Bobs Birthday

Sunday was the day we celebrated Bobs' birthday.  His daughter Denise and her family and grandaughter Nicole and her family and great grandson Blake were all there and friends and neighbors.  His cake was cute, He is a retired Superintendant on heavy equipment jobs and they had dump truck and backhoe and dirt (chockalate sprinkles) on his cake.  So cute, and we all had a  great bbq.  We did ribs and chicken , potatoe and macaroni salads, baked beans, artichoke torta, corn on the cob.  Wow!   and I was pretty good except for a piece of cake.

Later I went into the hot tub with 8 month old Blake.  Best hot tub buddy ever.

Some of the gang got out the atv's and went riding around the hills.  This is Nicole, Blakes mom.

Great Memorial Weekend

Raquel, Kindra, Bryan
What a great weekend!   First just to have a weekend off is a major thing.  I only get one a month off and the only way to enjoy is to get away.  I started out in a rental car and went to my boyfriends house on Friday night in Lake, Ca. near Cottonwood, then on Sat. we met with 2 of my kids and my daughter in law at Williams , Ca . We went to Granzellas for a late lunch and it rained all the time on the way down but when we got there it stopped, just for us. lol

Billy Bird and Mom brush calves

Billy Bird and Mom brush calves
grooming Cheech and Chong to keep them friendly has become a daily chore. The calves now are about 350 pounds and were starting to not want our company so now I brush them and have created a monster with Cheech. I have discovered he loves apples and carrots. Chong however wont even smell the goodies. Now Cheech stands in front of the front porch moowing at me for his treats. After I give him his treats it is hard to get back to the house and he is very determined to find more in my pockets.
